Prof. Dr. M. Nalan DEMİR completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Chemistry Education at the Faculty of Education, Dokuz Eylül University; her master’s degree in the Department of Chemistry at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Dokuz Eylül University; and her PhD in the Department of Chemistry at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Selçuk University. During her graduate studies, she focused on antioxidant systems, protein purification, enzyme immobilization, affinity chromatography and its various applications, environmental biotechnology, medical biotechnology, and biosensors.
She began her academic career as a Research Assistant in the Division of Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Süleyman Demirel University. During her doctoral studies, she continued her career as a Research Assistant at the Department of Chemistry of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Selçuk University, and later as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Süleyman Demirel University. In 2003, Dr. Demir joined the Division of Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Dokuz Eylül University as an Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008, and attained the title of Professor in 2014.
Prof. Dr. M. Nalan DEMİR has served as Head of Department, Vice Director of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Vice Dean, and has also undertaken numerous administrative and academic responsibilities at the faculty, institute, and departmental levels. Having supervised many master’s and doctoral students, holding patents, and conducting various research projects, Prof. Dr. DEMİR is currently continuing her education, training, and research activities as a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Dokuz Eylül University.
Prof. Dr. Nefise Ülkü KARABAY YAVAŞOĞLU
Prof. Dr. Nefise Ülkü KARABAY YAVAŞOĞLU completed her undergraduate education in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Ege University. She received both her master’s and doctoral degrees from the Department of Biology at the Institute of Science, Ege University. During her graduate studies, she focused primarily on cell biology, cytology, and toxicology.
Prof. Dr. KARABAY YAVAŞOĞLU began her academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Ege University. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2009 and to Full Professor in 2014. In 2017, she served as Vice Rector at Ege University, assuming significant administrative responsibilities. In addition, she has held various senior administrative and academic positions at the university, faculty, department, and application and research center levels. She is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Biology, Division of General Biology, Faculty of Science, Ege University, where she continues her teaching and research activities.
Prof. Dr. KARABAY YAVAŞOĞLU’s main research interests include molecular and cell biology, molecular cancer biology, biotechnology, biomaterials, and life sciences. She has published numerous scientific articles in high-impact national and international journals, as well as conducted and contributed to many research projects and conference proceedings in these fields.
Prof. Dr. KARABAY YAVAŞOĞLU has served as a jury member for numerous master’s and doctoral thesis defenses and has participated as an invited speaker at national and international scientific meetings. She has also taken active roles in congresses, symposia, and workshops, making significant contributions to scientific interaction and knowledge dissemination.
Teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, Prof. Dr. KARABAY YAVAŞOĞLU continues to contribute to the academic and scientific development of students through her thesis supervision, research projects, and scholarly activities.
Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali DAL
Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali DAL completed his undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in the field of Astronomy and Space Sciences at Ege University. He specialized in astrophysics through his doctoral dissertation entitled “Flare Characteristics and Spot Activity in Red Dwarfs.”
Prof. Dr. DAL began his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences, Faculty of Science, Ege University. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014 and subsequently to Full Professor. Between 2016 and 2017, he served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science at Ege University, and since 2016 he has been serving as the Director of the Ege University Observatory Application and Research Center. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences, Division of Astrophysics, Faculty of Science, Ege University, where he continues his teaching and research activities.
Prof. Dr. DAL’s main research interests include basic sciences, the Sun and solar systems, astronomy and astrophysics, stellar systems, the interstellar medium, galactic and extragalactic objects, as well as cosmology and stellar physics. He has authored numerous scientific articles, conference papers, and research projects published in internationally reputable journals in these fields.
Prof. Dr. DAL teaches at both undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to students’ academic development through master’s thesis supervision and jury memberships. He also actively participates in national and international scientific meetings and makes significant contributions to his field through his scholarly research.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özgür SEYDİBEYOĞLU
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özgür SEYDİBEYOĞLU completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Middle East Technical University. He received his master’s degree from the Polymer Science and Technology Program at the Institute of Science, Middle East Technical University, and completed his doctoral studies in Materials Science and Engineering at the Institute of Science, Istanbul Technical University.
Prof. Dr. SEYDİBEYOĞLU began his academic career as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Science, Istanbul Technical University. During his academic advancement, he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014 and to Full Professor in 2019. He is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, where he continues his teaching and research activities.
Prof. Dr. SEYDİBEYOĞLU’s main research interests include materials science and engineering, polymers, composite materials, nanotechnology, and advanced materials. He has contributed to academic and industrial knowledge production through numerous national and international scientific publications, patent studies, scientific consultancy roles, and professional memberships in these fields.
Prof. Dr. SEYDİBEYOĞLU supports interdisciplinary interaction through his academic and industrial experience outside the university, as well as his participation in artistic and professional activities, projects, and research studies. He actively contributes to scientific processes by teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and by serving as a thesis advisor, jury member, and peer reviewer.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fidan NURİYEVA
Assoc. Prof. Fidan Nuri received her bachelor’s degree from the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, Ege University, Mathematics Majored in Computer Science Program. She completed her master’s and doctoral studies at the Department of Mathematics, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Ege University. Her research interests include Algorithm Theory, Combinatorial Optimization, Discrete Mathematics, and Mathematical Modeling. She worked at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Dokuz Eylül University between 2014 and 2025. Since September 2025, she has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Letters, Yaşar University.
