Aim of The Competition: 1923 IMSEF aims to teach the language of science at a young age, to bring together young people from the same age group around the world, to make scientific and cultural exchanges, to discover the talents of children with different art branches and to reveal their talents so aims to make them grow as ‘Scientists of the Future’.

Content of the competition: Students of High School and their equivalents.

Terms of the Applications for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Energy-Engineering and Mathematics-Computer Categories:

1. Students of high schools, grades 9 through 12 and their equivalents can participate in the competition.

2. Research projects will be in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Energy -Engineering and Mathematics– Computer fields.

3. A student, or group of students, may not exhibit more than one project a year. Projects can be prepared by one student or a group (max 3 students and a teacher).

4. Project reports should include the aim of the study, introduction, material and methods, conclusions, discussion, references and acknowledgment. Report should be written in compliance with the rules specified on our website and they should exceed 250 words.

5. All the participants projects should be appropriate for the field that they are competing. Projects must be done using scientific methods.

6. All projects must comply with the ethical rules.

7. Jury evaluation will be done by presenting the projects to the jury. Project presentations must be in English.

8. Projects will be evaluated by the academic members of the university. Judges may change the branch of the project based on the content.

9. Evaluation of projects will be based on creativity and originality, literature, scientific thinking, scientific method, data management, results, application, skills and research efforts. There will be no appealing against the results of the assessments.

10. Project applications should be made online. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications must be done by 20.02.2026, the latest. The participation fee is 800 Euros per one and the visit to Ephesus Ancient City and the House of the Virgin Mary costs 50 Euros. This amount includes accommodation, transportation from airport and all activities. Payments must be made no later than March 31, 2026.

11. Projects that are worth exhibiting will be announced on the website. Project owners will be notified by e-mail.

12. The project competition will be held face to face in Izmir between 1-6 June 2026. Project presentations should not exceed 10 minutes. It is recommended to prepare MS-Powerpoint presentations.

13. It is advised for the projects owners to apply for the patent before they are exhibited if the projects have commercial value.

14. In the competition, first, second, third and encouragement awards will be given in each category. The projects in the top three are entitled to receive a gold, silver, bronze medal and certificate of achievement, respectively, and the projects in the fourth place receive a certificate of achievement as an encouragement award.

15. All students and supervisors participating in the competition will be given a certificate of participation.

16. Projects will be eliminated if they are not appropriate to the terms of the competitions and the rules of organization committee. All the project owners are obliged to act in accordance with Ministry of Education regulations.
